Chief Financial Officer
Oversight and management of the Accounting Division and fiscal assets of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles.
Jo Wood has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles since 2013. She began her career with this agency in 2011 as Accounting Manager.
Prior to joining this agency, Ms. Wood was employed by the State of Alabama Department of Revenue. She began her career as an Intern in 2002 and was promoted to Accountant later that same year. She was promoted to Staff Accountant in 2005 and Senior Accountant in 2007.
Ms. Wood graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting Option. She completed post graduate studies at Auburn University Montgomery, in 2008, graduating with her MBA, Accounting Option. She earned the professional certifications of Certified Public Manager (CPM) in 2007 and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) in 2010.
Ms. Wood is a member of the Alabama Council on Crime and Delinquency where she has held the position of Executive Treasurer since 2015. She is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama. She serves as a Director for this organization and previously held a position on the Communication and Engagement Committee. She is also a member of the Association of Government Accountants.
