Amanda Deem

Communications Director

 

Amanda Deem serves as the Communications Director for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles. In this role, she guides the agency’s communications efforts across media relations, public information and internal outreach while supporting public engagement.

Before joining the Bureau, Deem spent 19 years with the Alabama Department of Transportation. She worked in the Media and Communications Bureau for nine of those years as a Communications Coordinator, focusing on Alabama’s strategic highway safety initiative, Drive Safe Alabama. While at ALDOT, she was part of teams that earned several AASHTO TransComm Awards, including honors for video production, internal communications and logo and website design.

Deem began her career at ALDOT at age 18 and later completed the department’s Leadership Academy. She is also a member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama.

She earned her degree in Communications from Auburn University at Montgomery. Deem lives in Montgomery with her partner, Andrew, and their two dogs.
