Board Chair

Hal Nash was appointed to serve as the Chair of the Board of Pardons and Paroles by Governor Kay Ivey in July of 2025.

Prior to his appointment, Chairman Nash served in various law enforcement leadership capacities. He most recently served as Chief Corrections Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Before that, he worked with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Chairman Nash has also held leadership positions in civic organizations, serving as international vice president of the Jaycees, and on various public boards, including as the Chairman of the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board and the Jackson County Hospital Authority.
