The Bureau will use advanced technology and innovative programming to advance critical public safety mission supported by Governor & Legislature
MONTGOMERY, AL – Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles Director Cam Ward today joined Governor Kay Ivey, Alabama House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter, State Senate President Pro-Tem Garlan Gudger, sheriffs, police officers and state law enforcement leaders from across the state to introduce the SAFE ALABAMA Public Safety Package.
The legislative package has bipartisan support and features bills targeting inner-city gun violence. Several of the bills will rely on the great work of ABPP, including a measure calling for enhanced supervision of violent, high-risk juvenile offenders. Additionally, the package expands Aniah’s Law and builds on the success of the metro area crime suppression unit – a multifaceted law enforcement operation that includes ABPP and agencies from local, state and county offices. ABPP Director Cam Ward released the following statement:

The Bureau is dedicated to promoting and enhancing public safety through cooperation and collaboration with the Legislature, the Courts, criminal justice agencies, victims and the community by providing investigation, supervision, and surveillance services in addition to a holistic approach to rehabilitating offenders. Active APOSTC certified officers comprise the majority of ABPP personnel.
