Dothan, AL – Officers of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles broke up a drug trafficking operation in Dothan, seizing six pounds of marijuana and cash.
Ken Brown, Officer-In-Charge of the Bureau’s Dothan office, said officers received a tip Tuesday that probationer Demetrius Roberts, also known as “Sir Charles,” had set up shop in a hotel room at the Red Roof Inn on Montgomery Highway and was dealing a large amount of narcotics.
Bureau Officers Holly Macko, Jerry Moore, Cody Fountain, Skip Duffie and Brown converged on the hotel room and conducted a search. They found six pounds of marijuana, digital scales, Ziploc bags and $17,000 cash. The street value of the marijuana is about $6,000.
Roberts, age 34, was arrested without incident and booked into the Houston County Jail on a charge of trafficking marijuana, a violent felony under Alabama law.
