Advisory: Alabama Bureau of Pardons & Paroles and Partners to Host Huntsville Job Fair with Alabama Experience
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Alabama Bureau of Pardons & Paroles (ABPP), partnering with Alabama Power, the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA) and J.F. Ingram State Technical College (ISTC), will host an Alabama Experience (ALEX) mobile job fair.
The event will be piloted at the Huntsville Day Reporting Center on April 18th. The goal is to connect employers with a need for workers and have employers on-site for application intake and on-the-spot position interviews. This effort will assist in our collective interests to reduce state recidivism and increase Alabama’s workforce participation.
The Alabama Experience, or ALEX, is a mobile exhibit featuring a collection of interactive kiosks and informational pieces, as well as a knowledgeable staff who walk visitors through every aspect of life here in Alabama; from work and play to costs of living. This workforce development tool will allow people to be introduced to the building trades, learn about post-high school educational opportunities, interact with local employees, and connect them to thriving careers in the state. Those interested in finding work here will even be matched to specific industries and introduced electronically to the proper representatives.
