In honor of National Nonprofit Day, the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles spotlights community partners who collaborate with the rehabilitative efforts of Day Reporting Centers. DRCs work with nonprofits and other organizations to provide additional resources for probationers and parolees. These resources include employment assistance, volunteer opportunities, substance abuse treatment and mental health support.
The community relationships are a vital part of the Bureau’s mission for public safety and rehabilitation. ABPP looks forward to the growth of working with local organizations.

SMEAC can be applied to personal decision making, problem solving and task execution.
DRCs provide counseling, educational training and supervision for probationers and parolees. With a focus on employment assistance, substance abuse treatment, mental health, and cognitive restructuring needs, DRC staff is committed to reducing recidivism rates and improving public safety through behavior change.
Currently, full Day Reporting Centers are located in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa. Day Reporting Center Lites, condensed versions of our DRCs incorporated into field offices and offering similar treatment, are in Bay Minette, Fort Payne, Guntersville, Opelika and Jasper.
