The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 38 parole hearings Tuesday, granting six paroles and denying 32. The board continued three parole hearings to a later date. The board also held nine hearings on requests for pardons.
Among the offenders denied parole were 27 inmates who have been convicted of violent crimes.
