The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 48 parole hearings Wednesday, granting seven paroles, including one medical parole. The board denied parole in 41 cases and continued two hearings to a later date. The board also held 15 pardon hearings.
Among those denied parole were 27 inmates who have been convicted of violent crimes.
