The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 38 parole hearings Tuesday, granting seven paroles – including one medical parole – and denying 31. Two parole hearings were continued to a later date. The board also held 21 pardon hearings.
Among those denied parole were 24 inmates who have been convicted of violent crimes.
