The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 31 parole hearings Wednesday, granting seven paroles and denying 24. The board continued two parole hearings to a later date. The board also held 15 pardon hearings.
Among those denied parole were 13 inmates who have been convicted of violent crimes.
