The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 35 parole hearings Thursday, granting seven paroles and denying 28. One parole hearing was continued to a later date. The board also held 17 pardon hearings.
Those denied parole included 24 inmates who have been convicted of violent crimes.
